Summer vacation

Do you take your dog with you on your summer vacation? I'm not sure if that's a good idea when the ground is so hot. Then you can't really take the dog with you anyway. Any experience?

I take him to my parents because it's too much stress for me if I can't go out at lunchtime anyway
